Award-winning social enterprise Loaf Café has opened its doors in Kilmainham, Dublin. Located in Kilmainham Square, the Old Chocolate Factory, the café is only a 3-minute walk from the infamous tourist attraction Kilmainham Gaol. Loaf is part of the NOW Group, a social enterprise in Northern Ireland, that supports people with learning difficulties and autism into jobs with a future. The NOW Group supports those who face barriers to employment and learning. They provide these individuals with the support they need to find the career they want and to change their lives for the better.
From Monday to Friday, Loaf Café in Kilmainham will be serving delicious coffees, sweet treats, lunches, and our award-winning sausage rolls that are made from scratch by their team. Loaf’s menu caters for all dietary requirements, with a variety of gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options available to choose from.
When you pay a visit to our café in Kilmainham you will also find our Loaf Pottery. This is a stunning range of handmade Irish pottery, with a social purpose at its heart. When you purchase our Loaf Pottery the profits are reinvested to support people with an intellectual disabilities and autism into jobs with a future. Our unique artisan pottery has been crafted with love and care by our in-house potters who are based in Country Down. From pottery mugs to pottery gift sets, you will find something to suit everyone’s taste!
All our cafés, including our new location in Kilmainham, are JAM Card friendly. The JAM Card was developed by our participants with the goal of finding a discreet and simple way of telling others they need ‘Just A Minute’ of patience and extra time when required. When you visit one of our cafés, you can show your JAM Card, available in card or app form, to a member of our team. They will understand what this card means and will provide you with the assistance required to give you a positive dining experience.
